Gem Privé abides by all applicable data protection laws and regulations including the UK’s Jewellery Retail Codes of Conduct. We only collect personal information (such as name, postal address, email) when our customers volunteer it, such as while registering details for payment. Gem Privé is required to respect the privacy of your data, and we will only use your personal information if 1) you have agreed to receive emails excusive for purposes of customer care; 2) to ensure you have access to certain special information as our customer; or, 3) for general Gem Privé communication.

We shall neither sell your personal data to third parties nor market it elsewhere without your permission to do so. From time to time, we may intend to use your personal data for marketing purposes and/or disclose your information to third parties. We will usually inform you in advance of obtaining your data. You may request that we not process your personal information for such purposes. You can prevent such processing by ticking certain boxes on the forms we provide. It is always the decision of the customer whether to provide personal data to Gem Privé. If you decide not to share your information with Gem Privé, you may not be able to gain access to certain areas of the website such as online payment. There may also be an impact on the level of service we can provide you. However some information including, but not limited to, choice of browser, number of visits, pages viewed, etc. are recorded automatically. That data is used to analyse our website’s performance. No additional use of your data is processed nor is it passed on to third parties.


Currently, Gem Privé does not use cookies. Cookies are tiny files that are temporarily stored on your computer when you visit a website, and, when you visit that site again, it recognises the computer. Whilst we do not use cookies at the time of publication of this policy, we reserve the right to do so in the future, solely for the purpose of gathering information regarding the use of the Gem Privé website. Your browser may be set to automatically accept cookies, however you can always adjust the settings to refuse cookies. You do not have to accept cookies to access our website. Refusing cookies may prevent you from accessing some areas of our website, however. Please be aware that there is no personal information in cookies unique to you.


We take data protection very seriously and we will take all reasonable steps to secure it in accordance with this policy. We make every effort ensure that it is protected from theft, manipulation, loss, distortion or any other material compromise. We hire only the most trustworthy employees and highly reputable third party hosting companies and payment providers in order to further ensure data security. We comply with European legislation and the Global Business and Electronic Commerce (“GBDE”) Recommendations ( issued in September 2001.

The collected data may be transferred to, and stored at, a location outside of the European Economic Area (“EEA”). The staffs that work for us or for one of our agents may also be operating outside of the EEA. Their duties may include order processing, payment verification and support services. Submission of your personal information means you agree to this transfer of your data.

If you have a password that secures your access to certain areas of our site, it is your responsibility to keep this password secure.

Whilst we will do our very best to ensure security of your information, regrettably, transmission of information over the Internet is never completely secure. Therefore we cannot guarantee the security of the transmission – any such transmission is done at your own risk. Upon receipt, we have procedures in place to keep security breach risks to a minimum.


Gem Privé will not knowingly collect the personal data of children without the permission of their parents or guardians.


In accordance with the DPA, you have the legal right to obtain the information that Gem Privé holds about you. Any inquiries regarding how your personal information is obtained or process or regarding our privacy policy in general, please feel free to contact our Privacy Protection representative at Gem Privé Customer Services, 16 Elgin Crescent, London, W11 2JR. You will promptly receive, upon request  (and in accordance with applicable legislation) a written account of which of your data, if any was collected and/or processed by Gem Privé during a visit to our website. Such requests may be subject to a processing fee of £10.


Any changes, modifications, amendments, or other alterations to this policy will be made to this privacy policy statement, the home page of, and any other places in the website that we deem appropriate.
